SIGNIFICANCE OF COW
She is an optimum combination of love, care, and serenity!!
In Vedas, the oldest of the Hindu scriptures, the cow is associated with Aditi, the mother of all the gods. Cow is seen as a motherly figure, a care taker of human being and a symbol of the divine bounty of living being. Cow gives selflessly, and asks very little in return. She needs us more than anything now.
Bhagwan Shri Krishna, is also called by the names like Govinda, Gopala, Nandlala, which in literal sense means the protector of cows. Mother cow holds a revered and sacred position in India and it is highly fortunate for a true devotee to feed mother cow. Some people believe that by donating a cow, holy soul of the deceased will straightly go to the heaven.
Constitution of India also mandates the protection of cows and highlights the importance of protecting wildlife. This is the reason, cows can roam freely all over India, even on few busy streets.
